Doors, like windows, have been used metaphorically to express human emotions.
Confucius: The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential… these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.
Coco Chanel: Don’t spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door. Coco Chanel
But when it comes to curb appeal it is a practical matter of making your front door as welcoming as possible. Potential buyers usually drive by the properties they might want to check out. In that brief introduction, your home can be added to the list or dismissed-without the potential buyer ever stepping foot inside. Here is a great example of before and after:
Even if you are not in the market to sell or buy, spiffing up the front door will make your home even more welcoming for YOU and your family. After the 2013-2014 winter here in MN, I am really motivated to go outside and take a good hard look at my front door, the porch, the walkway to the door-the entrance to my home, and use this before and after as a motivation to make the entrance to my home pop.
Have you ever added something to your entrance that made it more welcoming? Would love to see it. Do you have a before and after-post it in the comments below-and let us ooh and aah along with you.
