Headboard turned linen closet

We have a pier unit type bed, and I use “my side” as the linen closet. I adhere to the KISS model-KEEP IT SIMPLE, SWEETIE. It also helps keep a very mild (undiagnosed : ) OCD tendancy in check to limit the number of sheets and pillowcases to 3-4 sets. I wrap a pillowcase around a set so I am not checking size and style every time I change the linens.

The little note on the right hand side is the poem below.

Fresh Pillow (Kyrielle Sonnet)

I found it once when our mother wanted to gift a newly married grandchild a set of pillows as a wedding gift. I was so enamored with it, I posted a copy on the door to my linens.

Oh, and the top shelf holds a linen spray called fresh cotton. I can swear to you it smells better than the cotton I picked as a child.

Sweet dreams!

At night I lay my soul to sleep,

Closing my eyes there is no peep,

This soft bed is just so mellow,

My head rests on this fresh pillow.

Forgetting the stress of the day

I am in bed without delay.

Soul at ease— the mind must follow,

My head rests on this fresh pillow.

Satin sheets over my shoulder,

Keep me warm—not getting colder.

Fantasy dreams I now billow,

My head rests on this fresh pillow.

At night I lay my soul to sleep,

My head rests on this fresh pillow.
