When you read MLK’s “I have a dream”, you are inspired by the vision of the man. When you dig further into the life of King, it is apparent that his life was riddled with flaws. Oftentimes, people seem to want to try and define Martin Luther King either as a “god” or on the opposite end, a “philandering con man”. It is crucial for us to keep our eye on the fact that Martin Luther King was an ordinary man who did extraordinary things.

That fact should also be the foundation for the legacy that MLK left. One man can make a difference. And you don’t have to wait to become perfect or make your life perfect to become an active proponent in something that you think needs changed!
