Apple BBQ Pork Tenderloin
INGREDIENTS
1-2 lb pork tenderloin
1 cup chunky applesauce*
1 cup BBQ (everybody seems to have their own favorite!)
2 TBSP minced dried onion
INSTRUCTIONS
Mix applesauce, BBQ and onion and pour in 1 gallon freezer bag. Add tenderloin-you might need to cut it into several pieces to fit easily into the freezer bag.
*If you don’t have chunky applesauce, use regular applesauce and throw in a chopped apple when ready to cook.
Freeze. When ready to use, thaw overnight in fridge.
Pour entire bag in crockpot and cook on low 6-8 hours or on high 3-4 hours. I have tried it both ways and love the slower method. But it is nice to know you could get a nice meal done in 3-4 hours, too. The slower just seems a little more tender.
Serve this yummy BBQ tenderloin with some potato salad and coleslaw and you have a perfect summer meal.
Who said crockpots were just for cold weather cooking?
