This picture really made me think about the word “reflections”, because a lot of the time I walk on the beach, it is spent reflecting on past problems, past joys, past memories. The capacity to “remember” or “reflect” is difficult to constrain to only positive things. Maybe that is the way it is supposed to be. I mean, perhaps it is because we want to have the ability to remember a memorable moment from our past is also what requires us to also remember some of the more painful ones. Is it really possible to have one without the other?
Whenever our heart and soul is cut deep by sorrow, isn’t it just possible that it has created a vessel that can be filled to overflowing with joy? Most of the people that I truly admire are people who have overcome unsurmountable odds.
YOUR TURN: What are you reflecting on today?
