Dried hydrangeas, burlap, colorful leaves-all things we love to use for fall decorations….and when part of the decor shows a little character through aging-all the better.
An inexpensive wreath of nuts and leaves is the perfect accessory for the 50 year old milk can that is “crackled” all on its own. This is on the walk leading to our front door and is a perfect way to say “welcome.”
Remember Wabi Sabi-the Japanese art of appreciating beauty in the imperfect? This is a great example-the plant stand is refurburished Oklahoma barn wood-purchased at a county fair in Oklahoma. I gave it a white wash and filled the planter with Dollar Store leaves and pumpkins. Then just a whisper of gold paint over it all gives it a burnished look. Love that we can use it in our new home-it’s a perfect way to display our address.
