Christmas “to do” list
The advent calendar countdown to Christmas makes even the youngest child aware of “how many days till Christmas.” As women we usually are even more acutely aware of the timing around the holiday season. Food to buy, parties to plan/attend, cards to mail, gifts to buy, halls to deck-the list seems endless. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas are truly the busiest time of the year-I love the hub-bub of holiday season and often need to prioritize my time-there is so much fun to be had! I don’t want to miss a minute of it!! It is easy to let a high level of activity turn into stress. And, we all know, that stress can alter the experience for everyone. One of the ways I reduce the stress of a busy season/life is to keep meticulous lists.
I love making the list-pondering all the great things I can look forward to. Even “clean the refrigerator” on a list is motivating-I just imagine how shiny it will be when I finish. I love marking off the accomplished tasks. I will even put something ON the list that I just finished just so I can mark it off.
The list below caught my eye, because, well, it’s a list, and because it brought my focus back to the reason for the season-a celebration of the birth of the Light of the World-Jesus Christ.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
