Sharing a word about the pressure of Christmas.
Most of us are drawn to the beauty of Christmas and we want to surround ourselves with all the season has to offer – but sometimes the tasks are daunting and the list becomes too long. Many of our expectations are self-imposed. If we could but place people above things and prayer above perfection, letting our thoughts turn to God’s care and His love, ah – then there would be perfection – perfect peace.
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”
~ Isaiah 26:3
This week, another meaningful verse truly spoke to me about how weary we can become in the pursuit of the things that won’t last or truly satisfy.
“You have not called on me, you have not wearied yourselves for me.”
~ Isaiah 43:22
